December 6, 2020: Notice to Template Developers

For years, BP Forms has supported both Libre Office and Open Office forks.  However, recently, Libre Office has modified its internal formats and is no longer maintaining strict compliance with the odt document format.  As a result, if you edit templates using Libre Office, you could introduce inconsistencies within the templates internal format that may corrupt the Blue Prairie Forms dynamic tags.  This issue has been reported to the Libre Office team on their forums and we will monitor the progress on this issue.

Until then, we recommend that all template editors use Open Office from Apache instead of Libre Office

Open Office has been tested and does not suffer from this issue

This does not impact print servers used for document rendering since print servers only read, they do not re-write templates and thus would not inject the tag corrupting formats.
